5 Simple steps to taking your dog trekking in Europe:
Beinn on the Hill
- Make sure your dog is "micro-chipped".
- Take your dog to your local vet for a Rabies injection & subsequent blood test after which your "Pets Passport" will be issued by your vet. Note: you cannot bring your dog back into the UK for 6 months after the date of blood sampling.
- Head for the hills!
- 24 hours - before embarking – on your return home you must have your dog clinically examined by a vet & treated for: Tick borne diseases & Echinococcus. The treatment will then be recorded in your pet's passport. These are simple quick treatments which should take no more than 15 mins.
- A minimum of 24 hours after your dog has been treated you can embark on your journey home. You MUST embark within 48 hours of the treatment.
